Joseph, a native of Tampa, Florida, has been immersed in art for most of his life. Recognizing his passion for drawing, his mother enrolled him in private classes early on, leading to his acceptance at a charter art school for visual arts. During high school, Joseph exhibited his work throughout the eastern U.S. Although he was awarded a scholarship to Ringling College of Art in Sarasota, he chose to decline it in favor of pursuing his ambitions in the fire service. After completing the academy, he devoted himself to public service, which meant putting his artistic endeavors on hold. Following his marriage to his high school sweetheart and the start of their family, it was during the 2020 pandemic lockdown that Joseph rediscovered his love for painting, creating a portrait of his wife titled “My Love.” This piece reignited his creative passion, and now, from his studio in Tampa, he is producing new artworks and accepting portrait commissions while balancing his fire service career and family life.
