Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Joseph has been creating art for the better part of his life. His mother recognized his love for drawing and enrolled him in private classes at an early age. Showing promise, he was accepted to a charter art school for visual arts. During his high school years, Joseph traveled the eastern side of the U.S. displaying his art. In his senior year, he received a scholarship offer from the Ringling College of Art in Sarasota, Florida but turned it down for a calling to join the military. Upon his return, Joseph continued his desire to serve others and took up a career in the fire service. It was then that art began to take a backseat and no longer hold a priority in his life. After marrying his high school sweetheart the two began to settle down and raise a family. It was during the lockdown of the pandemic of 2020 that Joseph pulled out the easel and paints and began to paint again. This is when he painted his portrait of his wife titled “My Love.” From that painting, his spark to create art again was reignited. Working out of his studio in Tampa, Florida, Joseph is creating new pieces and taking commissions for portraits while maintaining his fire service career and raising his beautiful family.
